Dr. Alan was born in Erbil city, the capitol of Kurdistan region of Iraq in 1980, after graduation 2001-2002 he joined the post graduate program as a trainee for one year 2002-2003 and was a senior house officer of oral and maxillofacial surgery for two years, then obtained a high diploma in orthodontic dentistry 2005, worked as a specialist the year after.
In 2007, he joined the MSc. Program of oral and maxillofacial surgery and obtained the masters in 2009. In the same year, he was assigned as a teaching staff in oral and maxillofacial surgery department in Hawler Dentistry College. In 2010, he became the registrar of the department, and obtained the diploma of membership of the oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Royal College of Physician and Surgeon/ Glasgow the year after.      

During 2013, he has become a clinical supervisor in the Diploma of Implantology and Diploma of Aesthetic Dentistry in Iraq held by Iraqi Dental Association and the British Academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry (BAIRD).   

Moreover, he is a member of The British Academy of Implant Dentistry advisory board and acts as an academic advisor and a senior moderator for the British Academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry courses in Iraq.

Dr. Alan is also participating in many dental journals (local and international) like: the coordinator and a member of the editorial board of the Iraqi Dental Journal and a member of the editorial board of Smile Dental Journal.
