A REVOLUTION IN DENTISTRY
Im Wandel der Zahnmedizin

In the age of upheaval in dentistry, a significant change is becoming apparent: the industry is increasingly characterised by women. According to “Facts and Figures 2023” published by the German Dental Association and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists, there has been a significant increase in the number of female dentists from 30,086 in 2013 to 34,518 in 2021. At the same time, the number of male dentists has fallen from 40,044 to 38,165. The comparison of data from almost 10 years thus illustrates the ongoing trend in the sector.

This change not only highlights a paradigm shift in the composition of dentistry, but also emphasises the need to give women a stronger voice. In light of this development, it is essential to consider the specific needs of female dentists and develop instruments that meet their requirements.

Lightweight, ergonomic handles, aesthetics, durability and environmental protection are of crucial importance here. Taking these aspects into account not only optimises the working environment for dentists, but also results in instruments that increase the precision and efficiency of the dental practice as a whole and thus facilitate patient treatment.

The upheaval in dentistry is therefore not only opening up new perspectives, but also requires the targeted adaptation of instruments in order to provide the best possible support for the growing number of female dentists. The future of dentistry is female-centred, and it is our responsibility to actively shape this change and create innovative solutions for the entire dental profession.
